The CIRPASS-2 project, funded by the European Commission under the Digital Europe Programme and formally titled Digital Product Passports Enabling At-Scale and Real-Life Circular Economy Use Cases in Electronics, Textiles, Tires, and Construction Value Chains, aims to accelerate the deployment of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) across various industrial sectors. By establishing functional DPP systems in real-world environments, CIRPASS-2 seeks to promote the circular economy in sectors such as textiles, electronics, tires, and construction.
CIRPASS-2 focuses on demonstrating the feasibility and effectiveness of the Digital Product Passport in circular business models, including reuse, repair, and recycling. These activities are aligned with the European Union’s green transition and upcoming regulatory frameworks that will require more sustainable practices across industries. The project’s particular emphasis on small and medium-sized enterprises, interoperability, and real-world implementation further reinforces its role in shaping a future in which products are traceable, resources are reused, and industries are more closely connected in pursuit of environmental sustainability goals.
